Portable Wheelchair Shower Stalls from American Disabilities Corp
Completely assembled, accessible shower stalls. Roll in wheelchair shower units for the disabled and elderly. These in-home handicapped shower stalls can be set up where there is access to warm water for the shower head, an electrical outlet for the pump to remove the waste water, and a drain.


Use the portable wheelchair shower stall in the kitchen, laundry room, mobile home, or even a hotel room or campsite.


The shower unit folds flat when not in use. When the sides swing open, a flexible but durable nylon-mesh imbedded vinyl drain pan drops down and attaches to the back and sides of the frame. The person in the wheelchair then rolls in the shower stall after which a support arm drops down to form the fourth support side for the drain pan. Water for the shower stall comes from any standard faucet to which a hose and shower head is attached. (A universal adapter is also provided to help ensure connection capability.)

The wheelchair shower stall has a special germicide-imbedded vinyl curtain to help prevent mold or mildew during storage. The accessible shower unit has a front privacy panel that may be left open for a caregiver to assist. The shower stalls are available in 4 sizes for portable home bath needs - standard, tall, and bariatric.

The B5000 Bariatric FAWSsit shower stall has the same design as the S2000 Standard FAWSsit, but it was added to the product line to meet the needs of two distinct groups: The morbidly obese individual who requires an oversized wheelchair and shower to realize the same health benefits as individuals with disabilities who are able to use a standard sized wheelchair. It was also designed for individuals who may be able to fit into a standard sized wheelchair, but who may have foot or leg issues which require additional depth to accommodate their foot extension. The bather can be rolled into the shower stall in a standard shower/commode style of wheelchair or even just a regular wheelchair. The shower hooks up to a standard sink faucet. Waste water is returned to the sink drain by an electric pump.

The R3000 Recliner FAWSsit shower stall is designed for individuals who require a care attendant for all bathing support. It is a completely portable, self-contained shower stall, but it is designed for ease of access by the caregiver, and for use with shower/commode style wheelchairs that are fully reclined, or even for gurneys. Because the R3000 accommodates up to 78” in length, even persons who may be unconscious can be safely bathed. The R3000 is the perfect bathing solution for high quadriplegics, cerebral palsy patients, wounded soldiers awaiting treatment, or even children with disabilities who have become too heavy to be easily lifted into traditional bathtubs.

The T4000 Tall FAWSsit shower stall is designed for any individual who wishes to have a completely portable shower stall. It is designed for use by both able-bodied and disabled individuals who can either stand in a shower stall, or who can shower while seated in a standard wheelchair. The size of the T4000 is 36” wide by 36” deep, and stands a full 6 feet tall. With this unit, the person to be bathed can either step into the shower stall or be rolled into the shower stall in a standard style shower/commode or regular wheelchair. A front shower curtain may be brought around to ensure water containment all the way around inside the unit and can give complete privacy.

For those who find that traditional bathing facilities are difficult or impossible to use. The bather can be rolled into the shower stall in a standard shower/commode style of wheelchair or even just a regular wheelchair. The shower hooks up to a standard sink faucet. Waste water is returned to the sink drain by an electric pump.

Safety Note: Never use electrical devices in direct contact with water. This includes electric wheelchairs.

Some insurance providers do reimburse some or the entire expense for this product. It is dependant upon the insurance provider. Medicare will not reimburse for this product. Some state Medicaid programs will. For reimbursement, the best strategy is to have your physician fill out a " medical necessity form" and write you, the customer, a prescription for the FAWSsit Foldaway wheelchair shower. Submit this to your insurance provider.
